Manaco Shellfish Update September 30, 2008

Back to oldcamano.net

we had our last daylight minus tide on september 24, 2008. the next daylight minus tide will be on February 4, 2009. the shellfish and pots are surviving well. late in the summer, many small starfish would get into the lowest tide pots, and eat plenty of small oysters. i moved most of the lowest tide level pots to a higher level to keep them away from the majority of starfish. i've double bagged the sandbags, and added more interlocking rebar to the pots. the pots should survive all but the most extreme storms. below are lots of summer/fall shellfish pot photos, with captions.
