I'm (Louie Bloom) from Manaco Beach, Camano Island. I've lived on Camano (off and on), since 1957. I installed septic systems from 1980 to 2003. I like collecting and sharing facts and documents. I've got another website/blog at http://lbloom.net My latest hobby/entertainment is growing oysters. Oysters grow great in our Camano Island waters, if protected from storms and predators. Here's some oyster information There was a 1930 oyster growing operation in Port Susan by Warm Beach. There is an Island County 1933 Plat of Camano BluePoint Oyster Tracts in the middle of Port Susan saltwater. There's a public oyster beach at Penn Cove, on Whidbey Island.
